Quick description about routerip gaim:

Gaim (0.70 and later) plugin to reveal the IP address of your local Linux router by use of special tags in messages. You can IM yourself \'$IP\' or \'$FTP\' from outside your local network to get your Linux router\'s dynamic ppp0 (or any other interface.
