We have hosted the application pyhard2 control hardware from python in order to run this application in our online workstations with Wine or directly.
Quick description about pyhard2 control hardware from python:
pyhard2 is an object-oriented framework to help in the development of instrument drivers. pyhard2 is proposed as an alternative to LabVIEW. Emphasis is given on serial drivers but the framework can be used with any socket. The source also contains the implementation of a PID controller and a setpoint ramp generator.
The instrument drivers may further be incorporated in a GUI, using, e.g. PyQt or PySide. Threading is automatically taken care of. Furthermore, generic GUI (called controllers) are provided and can be extended.
Features:
- The python driver development kit (DDK).
- SCPI drivers are supported.
- Digital I/O hardware is supported.
- Drivers easy to write (0.5 days, typically) and easy to read.
- Loose coupling between drivers and GUI.
- Threading is taken care of for free in the GUI.
- Programming hardware (i.e., set point ramps with a PID) is available for free in the GUI.
- Extend the GUI using Qt Designeror with hand-written code.
- Present an overview of various controllers in a dashboard.
- Dashboard with a tabbed interface.
Audience: Science/Research, Advanced End Users, Engineering.
User interface: Console/Terminal, Qt.
Programming Language: Python.
