We have hosted the application macroquad in order to run this application in our online workstations with Wine or directly.

Quick description about macroquad:

macroquad is a lightweight, easy-to-use game library for the Rust programming language, offering developers a relatively simple and streamlined path to build games across platforms. The library is heavily inspired by simpler game frameworks (like raylib), but brings the ergonomic and safety features of Rust to 2D and some minimal 3D development. With Macroquad, you dont need to worry about low-level graphics plumbing: it handles window and input management, rendering, UI, and more, letting you focus on game logic. A strength of Macroquad is its cross-platform reach: it supports desktop (Windows, Linux, macOS), web (via WebAssembly / HTML5), and mobile (Android, iOS) without requiring platform-specific code. Compilation is relatively fast with minimal dependencies, so small projects or prototypes can spin up quickly. Because its batteries included for common tasks (rendering, drawing shapes, text, basic UI, game loop), Macroquad works well for rapid prototyping.

Features:
  • Cross-platform support across desktop, web (WASM/HTML5), Android, and iOS
  • Efficient 2D rendering with automatic geometry batching for good performance
  • Built-in immediate-mode UI library (for menus, HUDs, debug overlays, etc.)
  • Minimal dependencies and fast compile/build times, good for small or lightweight projects
  • Single-codebase approach no need for platform-dependent defines or boilerplate when targeting multiple platforms
  • Simple API and ease of use: good for quick prototypes, small games, or developers learning Rust/game dev
