genhostname

We have hosted the application genhostname in order to run this application in our online workstations with Wine or directly.

Quick description about genhostname:

genhostname is a linux perl script running at runlevel2 boot and changes the computers hostname to PC-XXXXXXXXXX deppending on the eth0 mac address or the wireless network card macaddress there is 2 scrips in the download. install the one you need.

Features:

• automaticly generate hostname/computername based on macaddress
• runs itself as root on runlevel 2
• automaticly changes name when network card is replaced(at boot)
