fwupd

We have hosted the application fwupd in order to run this application in our online workstations with Wine or directly.

Quick description about fwupd:

This project aims to make updating firmware on Linux automatic, safe, and reliable. A system daemon to allow session software to update firmware.

Features:

• This project is configured by default to download firmware from the Linux Vendor Firmware Service (LVFS)
• Documentation available
• This service is available to all OEMs and firmware creators who would like to make their firmware available to Linux users
• The flow of updates can be controlled in the enterprise using the "approved updates" feature
• Examples available
• fwupdmgr is a command line client, but various additional graphical frontends are enumerated in the fwupdmgr man page
